For over the past several years, Microsoft has been known to be a reliable, trustworthy brand, and an organization which delivers what it promises. The company has been around for a good while in the markets, and has been known for their work in the software and OS industry. However despite all their credibility and goodwill, the company had been pushing the release of the Windows 10 Mobile OS for quite a long time.
Microsoft had promised the release of the Windows 10 Mobile OS back in the December of 2015. However, December went and no update came out. Microsoft was then expected to release it in February, but has finally released it now, in the middle of March. Better late than never, this update has been the delight for many while it has disappointed many too.
The update has been one of the most awaited events for the users of the Lumia phones. However, Microsoft was in panic mode and they had to release this update now because the churn was too high against the favor of Microsoft. Users of Windows Phone devices were leaving the company and were going to other platforms. The market share fell by 50% last year, and only 10% of the current smartphone industry is that of the Windows Phone users.
Out of those 10%, a mere 1% were those of Windows 10 Mobile users. This number is expected to rise now.
The Windows 10 Mobile OS update has officially been rolled out for the following devices – Lumia 1520, 930, 640, 640XL, 730, 735, 830, 532, 535, 540, 635 1GB, 636 1GB, 638 1GB, 430, 435, BLU Win HD w510u, BLU Win HD LTE x150q, and the MCJ Madosma Q501.
The company has not released the update for all the Windows 8.1 Mobile OS devices because they have said that on some phones they might have to compromise on quality, which they don’t want to do.
