Microsoft has been among some of the biggest names in the world of technology, and gaming has been one of their longest running businesses. The company is the name behind the XBOX console, and every year at the E3 event, Microsoft tends to make major announcements. This year too, was a big year for the company, as Microsoft announced the following things at the E3 2016 –
- Project Scorpio
Microsoft’s XBOX chief, Phil Spencer announced at the E3 2016 that the XBOX gamers need not wait 5 to 8 years to get the ‘next generation’ of consoles. Phil talked about their latest initiative, ‘Project Scorpio’ – a new XBOX device, which would be coming out with an incredible 6 teraflops of GPU power and 8 CPU cores with the objective of letting the gamers play games at 4K resolution and in high fidelity VR. The device is expected to come out in Christmas 2017.
The team which came out with Vanquish and Bayonetta games has now released their gen-next game, Scalebound. The game was first seen at Gamescom 2015, and was met with positive reviews. At the E3 2016, the game has announced its release date to be “2017” and will be coming out for the Windows 10 OS and for the XBOX One.
- Gears of War 4
Gears of War 4 is among one of the most awaited games in the recent times, and a long trailer for the game was shown off at the event. With different weather conditions, environments, and different kinds of enemies to fight against, the game looks rather sturdy. The Gears of War 4 game will be coming out on the 11th of October. A special edition XBOX Controller has also been created for the same.
