Linden Labs Releases Sansar’s New Trailer: Showcases Creation of New Worlds

Mar 8, 2017 By

Virtual Reality has been taking over the way we know the markets of technology to be. There has been a paradigm shift in the way tech firms deliver experiences to the users, and VR has been a major catalyst of this change. Linden Labs’ Sansar is a new VR app from them which will launch in the Spring of this year. It has been awaited for quite a while, and Linden Labs have now released a new trailer depicting the creation of new worlds on it.

Sansar

For those who might not remember, Linden Labs is the company behind second life, which has been played by up to 1.1 million users at a time in its peak. The company is taking their world building expertise and putting it in a virtual reality setup. This is indeed a major jump for the VR technology as well as for the world of experiential gaming.

Sansar will be different from Second Life because while second life featured one massive endless world, this new-age VR experience will duplicate the worlds endlessly, which will allow the accomodation of more people. The new trailer to Sansar is darker, grittier, and even dystopian to an extent. Things happening in the trailer are looking rather chaotic, and show a great example of what it will hold once it comes out for the users in the Spring of this year.

Virtual Reality is stepping up, along with Augmented Reality. Both these markets have been booming with every passing day. The technologies have found use across multiple sectors over the years. With Apple too focusing more on AR in the next few years, and with Google working heavily on Virtual Reality, it looks like Lineden Labs is releasing Sansar at the right time where people are all set to accept VR as a regular phenomenon, and not something special.

HTC To Launch A U Ultra Smartphone Compatible VR Headset Later This Year:

Feb 15, 2017 By

After having considerable success in the VR industry, HTC is now getting involved in launching headsets that will be able to bring virtual reality to the smartphone.

By virtual reality on smartphones we do not mean the Google cardboard; it means that the concept will have a prototype of the HTC Vive that will be dedicated to the mobile platform only. Needless to say, a tight budget is out of the question and prices are sure going to be quite challenging.

HTC had laid its base for the mobile VR environment almost a year back. Developments started alongside the HTC Vive. A special app store, dedicated to mobile VR, called Viveport M was launched in China. Apart from this, the company has tried coming up with the concept of the Vive M phone, but so far no positive movement.

The headsets like Google Cardbhoard that provide a budget option to experience VR, which the mid range ones can resort to using the phone by shoving them in the VR headset. This time however, we might need to understand that HTC will be coming up with a different concept. This concept states the company might follow another concept where the mobile does not have  to be plugged into the headset. Instead, the phone can stay disconnected, just like LG 360 VR or like magic leap, where you are actually carrying the receptive unit around in a backpack or in the case of the former, where the phone and the headset are connected using a USB cable.

The wireless connectivity concepts are quite lucrative, but things can take a set back in this regards particularly because of the phones . Not everyone has a highly improved smartphone and such people might have to resort to Google Cardboard  for the same. As of now, you can enjoy the HTC Vive as it is until something better comes into play.

Google is heavily relying on the shorts, apps and games in order to promote Daydream, a software service and hardware store that the company is hoping will be the dominant way that the people will engage with the virtual reality for example the as Android is for smartphones. Even an update in the software of Android which is set to support Daydream began to roll out on Monday. The basic idea behind all this is to encourage the growth of technology and ensuring that Google is still maintaining the central role in order to help the people to find whatever they are looking for.

Google is all set up to enter what seems to be already a crowded marketplace with the product offerings from different companies such as Sony, Facebook, HTC and Samsung. While we see that Sony’s Morpheus headset is made just for and tethered to its PlayStation video game console, Google on the other hand is trying to focus more on the mobile based VR. With that all the customers will be able to snap their phones into a headset or a visor. When the headset is on, Daydream is set to offers the users with lots of apps, from HBO Now to YouTube. The future is surely upon us and the era of Virtual Reality has begun, who do you think will come out on top?

Mar 29, 2016 By

Oculus Rift has just hit the shelves and look at how the people are responding? Needless to say, you must also be reveling in the joy of having a new VR headset and a lot to do. But by a lot, what do people mainly consider? True, it is playing new games. But not all games run smoothly – there are seven Oculus Rift Games that are really worth all the trouble and we are going to discuss them today.

Oculus Rift Games are available in its online store and range between $5 and $60. A number of shorts and experiments are also included, as are the 3 dozen games that are currently available. We are going to guide you through today with the kind of games you need to play here. A list of seven most intriguing games available on VR today will be subject to your choices and likings.

  1. Adrift – What would you do if you are in a space station in space and suddenly, you happen to be facing a major crisis in form of a space station disaster? I know it rings some bells in there. Yes, you are right, the movie, gravity. Players are faced with similar situations, and VR only makes it better. The beauty of space along with its perils are well depicted in the game. With some really crisp graphics, it will be a great catch. Good news, non VR users – it is going to be released on PC too.
  2. Chronos – Confusing and complex, Chronos uses the time factor, alternate history factor, and multiple life factor to deploy plot elements that are borrowed heavily from the title, Dark Souls. The game is a rudimentary structure of what future VR games may evolve into some day, and is not a bad one for the start.
  3. Darknet – Yipeee!! This title always makes it everywhere. Solve a series of puzzles to hack a whole computer system before the authorities are able to get you. With Oculus Rift, the graphics get even better.
  4. EVE Valkyrie – The game revolves around a space dogfighter in its duel against enemies. Designed especially for VR environments, the game comes bundled with the Rift, so be sure to check your email for the code.
  5. Pinball FX2 VR – This came needs no introduction, but playing it in VR really takes the fun up higher.
  6. Radial G Raching Revolved – Race around on a neon Mobius strip and get rid of your fellow racers!
  7. Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes – A blend between VR and the real world can be seen in this game as you try defusing a bomb in the VR world and your friend reads out instructions from a manual. Can be a great game to play in parties.

PlayStation VR launched at $399, To Come Out in October –

Mar 19, 2016 By

One of the most awaited names in the world of gaming, the PlayStation VR has now been made official. The company has been trying hard to change the way the markets of gaming technology work, and their work has been made easier with the advent of the Virtual Reality technology. The PlayStation VR has now been made official and has been announced by Sony. The device follows many other VR devices such as Oculus Rift and HTC Vive. However, the PlayStation VR is expected to be quite a big competition to the other existing devices in the markets.

With the arrival of the PlayStation VR, markets are going to witness a device which has ‘ready markets’. Priced in at just $399, the PS VR costs $200 less thanScreenshot_11 the Oculus Rift and $400 less than the HTC Vive. Also, the biggest benefit that PlayStation’s VR device has over its competitors on the PC is that the market is ready – i.e., in order to play a VR game in Oculus or HTC Vive, users need to assemble a gaming PC which requires high-end RAM and processors which in itself costs over $1500 on an average. The advantage with the PS VR is the fact that it runs on the PlayStation 4.

With over 40 million PS4 devices already in the market, the PlayStation VR comes with an added edge over its competitors. While the pricing is an advantage, the bigger advantage is in the form of market readiness.

However, in order to use the device in its maximum potential, a PlayStation Camera too will be needed. While most ardent gamers might already have it, some gamers would need to buy it, and it is available at $45 on Amazon.

The device will officially release in the month of October 2016 if everything goes as smooth as it has been planned to.
