Valve

Half Life 3 To Release In Full-VR: Executive Comments

Jul 18, 2016 By

Half Life 3 has been among one of the most anticipated games of all times. The game has been awaited for quite a long while, and any comments on the game are welcome by the gaming community at large. Let us take a look at two rather interesting comments. The first of them ccomes from a Valve engineer – who gives an optimistic point of view, while the second one is a little older statement from the CEO Gabe Newell.Half Life 3

Alan Yates, a hardware engineer at Valve commented on Reddit saying – “I was super fortunate to start at Valve right around the time Michael Abrash had begun the AR/VR research team. It was a much smaller team then than it is now, it has since grown to encompass about a third of the company, but the key individuals that solved most of the really hard technological problems and facilitated this generation of consumer headsets are still here working on the next generation.”

The real Gabe Newell, gave this statement in an interview in the past, when he was asked about the future of the Half Life series and the Half Life 3 game: “The only reason we’d go back and do like a super classic kind of product is if a whole bunch of people just internally at Valve said they wanted to do it and had a reasonable explanation for why. But you know if you want to do another Half-Life game and you want to ignore everything we’ve learned in shipping Portal 2 and in shipping all the updates on the multiplayer side, that seems like a bad choice. So we’ll keep moving forward. But that doesn’t necessarily always mean what people are worried that it might mean.”

The future does look interesting for those who have been awaiting the release of Half Life 3 since a decade now!

  • txt in DoTA 2 Reborn update: This update for DoTA 2 Reborn actually came out last year, and it featured a text file, which was named HL3. While this might not directly be a hint, someone might have accidentally dropped it off, or who knows, it might actually be Valve just messing around with us! For those curious enough to look inside the file, click here.
  • Hidden Half Life Logo In Steam Sale: In another development to the ‘hints’ that have been dropped, a Redditor found out a lambda hidden inside the steam holiday sale. The hidden lambda can be seen on the left side of THIS image.
  • Virtual Reality: Following all this, in February, when Virtual Reality devices were all set to release for the public, the company came out with a Steam VR Performance Test, which would help the gamers know if their devices can run the games or not. There were files inside the folders of this test which teased Half Life 3 as well as Left 4 Dead 3.

Minecraft on Steam OS Gets Scrapped – Crown and Council Takes Its Place

Apr 24, 2016 By

It is in the news that Mojang has found out some smooth moves. Again the gaming studio behind Minecraft has reported as well as unveiled an interesting advanced game for modern generation named Crown and Council. On the other hand it is quite surprising that Minecraft’ developer Mojang is offering it in absolutely free .Even interestingly enough all it accepted to create the game was the initiative of a lone “Mojangsta “named Henrik Petterson. So it is really a good news for everyone that this one game is created by only one man. Additionally this game is unleashed and reported in only one day.

However this new game called Crown and Council is not totally unparallel on its own. Rather it is reported that this new Crown and Council game is very similar with its previous pixilated model of a few other games. That means it can be compared with the other older games like Risk or Civilization. So like other previous models of game this new game named Crown and Council not only posses  cutesy 16 bit style of pixel art but also MIDI sound effects. Again these sound effects reminds us about the days of the Super Nintendo or Sega Genesis .But if we keep apart these cutesy 16 bit style of pixel and MIDI sound effect then Crown and Council will appear to us as a very promising strategy game.

Moreover it is exposed this new game Crown and Council is centered around the geopolitical drama of winning kingdoms. So here in this game a player have to create, spread and have to make some development in their country .On the other front the player also have to protect  their country from enemies. Generally gols is accessed as the digital monetary currency of expanding a country economically. They also in one hand have to form forts forwarding attacks from sea and on the other hand have to build universities for further up gradation.

Though apparently it seems smooth to win the game but it is not quite so easy to win as there is lots  of happenings in the seemingly small and old looking game.

Moreover this game depends upon the procedural generation for its 75 inbuilt maps. Additionally Crown  and Council can be downloaded for free and can be played in any modern machine with 1 GB  RAM and at least 300 MB of free space.

Half Life 3 To Be Cancelled – Know The Details

Mar 14, 2016 By

Valve has been a company which has been rather busy these days. The company has been adapting with the latest trends of the world of technology. The way the company has been progressing, they have now brought around many changes in the markets of gaming. Half Life series of games have been games which have been among some of the most talked about games of recent times. Developed by Valve, the Half Life series is one of the most popular series of games and the company has been known for that over the years. It has often been reported that the Half Life 3 Game might be releasing later this year, but Valve is all set to cancel the game, as per latest market speculations.Half-Life-3

Ever since Marc Laidlaw left the company, Half Life 3 has been under severe speculation of not releasing at all. The man had worked with Valve for the past sixteen years, and the company had enjoyed many games which were created by this man. This game was the brainchild of Marc Laidlaw, and after his departure, there is a major chaos in the company as to who will guide the developers on how the game progresses.

Other than that, the company too, has taken a rather cautious approach to the way the things work in the markets of technology, and the CEO of Valve, Gabe Newell has commented on Half Life 3, saying that the company treats the Half Life series of games as ‘classics’ and would not like to mess around with them.

“The only reason we’d go back and do like a super classic kind of product is if a whole bunch of people just internally at Valve said they wanted to do it and had a reasonable explanation for why.

HTC Vive In Association With Valve Is The Next Level Of VR

Jan 11, 2016 By

CES 2016 is the forum to showcase the outstanding technical gadgets of the year. What is actually pronouncing this time at the CES is the large audience’s attraction towards the Virtual Reality sector.

What is actually pronouncing this time at the CES is the large audience’s attraction towards the Virtual Reality sector.Microsoft with HoloLens, PlayStation VR, Oculus Rift and HTC VR are the major competitors of VR.Not only HTC, world’s biggest gaming platforms – Valve is also venturing in VR sector.Valve‘s maximum association has been with Steam but for the first time brings the VR headset in collaboration with HTC. HTC Vive Pre is the joint venture of HTC and Valve.Planned to be released by December 2015, This Vive pre system is now postponed to be launched to April 2016 for someundisclosed reasons.Pictures of the Vive Pre are released by both Valve and HTC in this CES 2016.

Experts are of the opinion that the headset can actually be tagged to be the third generation of Steam VR. Often referred to as HMD is equipped with the lighthouse and the controller which looks very futuristic. The controller and the lighthouse units in the headset is so easy to use that even  people wearing glasses can find it convenient to use.Memory foam inbuilt in HTC Vive Pre makes the headset very light and convenient to use.Final price of this amazing device is not yet finalized in all countries; however it might be set to sold off in $999.

What is to be commendable is the fact that the company being located in the eastern zone of the world is coming up with a very sophisticated device, that too in a very short period of time. This could not have being possible without the efforts and the kind of help put in by Cher Wang, CEO of HTC who is of the notion that both Augmented reality and Virtual reality carries  the potential of being the future of technology and also the biggest earning sector of the market in the near future. Keeping this futuristic target in mind he let out a separate zone within HTC to be focused only to Virtual reality and spent a lot for the advancement of the device from the assembly lines. No doubt without Valve’s contribution, the introduction of  HTC Vive Pre in the world of electronics was impossible.
