Rise Of The Tomb Raider Baba Yaga DLC – How Was It Received?

Jan 31, 2016 By

The Baba Yaga DLC was a celebrated addition to the Rise Of The Tomb Raider game, which is a part of Xbox One games.

All  about the Baba Yaga – according to the Slavic folklore.

The Rise of the Tomb Raider game came as a follow up to the first Tomb raider game that was launched in 2013. This sequel was launched in 2015 November and has since then drawn a lot of positive feedback. But the game makers are not done with the game yet; they have been supplying content to the players of the game, particularly to those on the Xbox One. Its latest addition to the game was in the form of The Baba Yaga – Temple of The Witch DLC. Also known as Baba Yaga DLC, the game involved Lara’s journey deep inot the the forests if the Eastern Europe, and in this case, in the Siberian forests as well, where she is sent to find people who were lost during a mission. The jungle is full of dangers, and you’ll know how much if you have read the description of Baba Yaga in the picture above. Since she can control animals and people alike, the witch has apparently put these lost peopple in a trance where they will attack her while Lara is alone scouring the forests to find them and to uncover the Baba Yaga mystery.

Naturally, this story, derived so well from a folklore that has scared many a kids in their childhood was able to bag the game an AOTF award for being the best story of the year. It also comes with moments where Lara is confused, trying to fight off creatures that are actually just in her head. Some are real, while others are figments of her imagination and she has to ward them off the complete the game. The game graphics are perfect for the stry of the game and since Lara also seems to be affected by the psychologically disturbing spells of the witch, the graphics will appear unclear and trippy to you.

On the downside we fell that the game could have been a little more longer, but the boss fight was excellent and really pushes up the standards.

Dec 29, 2015 By

Lara Croft Rise of The Tomb Raider is one of the iconic games that 2015 has been able to see. but the legacy of the game is far from being over. The game, after being immensely popular in the PS4 and the Xbox consoles will now be released over PC as well, so all the users who were left behind and were PC users will now be able to come aboard and experience the magic of this game as well.

The game is a creation of Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix. Both these production houses have done a great job in making the game. The graphics are perfect and Lara looks even better. Her expressions have matched the voice over perfectly and her action moves are almost real. All this was rather interesting to see in the game.

Now, we are going to see PC users enjoy this game. The Lara Croft Rise Of The Tomb Raider PC Version Release Date is January 29, 2016. This was first explained in a listing that was created by Amazon France (via IGN). It put the game in the list of top games in the PC sector to be released in 2016.

If you remember, the game had earlier been classified as an Xbox one exclusive release. However, you can put all that by now – The company will do equal justice to both PS4 and PC as well.

The declaration of the same was made Steam first. The online game distribution platform said that the PC version of the game will be released in January 2016. But the platform did not announce any fixed date of the release. They only confirmed the month as January 2016. The same was the case of Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics as well, they did not give any fixed date of the game but also mentioned that they were trying to launch the game as soon as possible. We believe this effort but the company somehow refrains from giving us specific details.

The character that has been immortalized in the books of history across various movies, comics, games and references in general.

Angelina Jolie herself played the role of Lara Croft in the movie adaptation of the game, and time and again various cosplayers have donned the shorts and the guns, becoming Lara Croft in the process.

The Tomb Raider franchise has been one of the most popular gaming franchises on the planet and the gamers have often feasted their eyes to amazing gameplay as well as some breathtaking moments that have defined their childhood.

The series, with time has progressed and has evolved in terms of both – the storyline as well as the graphics.

The latest game in the series is going to be released towards the end of 2015 and it has been making a lot of noise about itself already, for controversial reasons though. This noise has been created mostly by the gamers of PS4, and the ‘noise’ is them crying foul and whining over the decision of the company to align with Microsoft and release the game as an XBOX One exclusive for now.

While most decisions are financial in nature, the gamers fail to understand so, and this is going to give the XBOX One a major push in credibility as the Tomb Raider is indeed a big name in the world of gaming.

However, for the gamers who want to play the game on the PS4, the company has given no indication as of now as to when the rise of tomb raider would be releasing for the PS4, and of most details that we know as of now, the insider information suggests that the game is expected to release by the end of 2016 for the gamers of the PS4!

Tomb Raider as an XBOX Exclusive: Will it benefit or hurt the franchise?

May 31, 2015 By

Tomb Raider as an XBOX Exclusive: Will it benefit or hurt the franchise?Ever since it was first announced that Tomb Raider’s latest part, The Rise of the Tomb Raider was going to be an XBOX exclusive, at least for the first few months, there was a wave of reactions from the gamers community online.

There were many who appreciated this move while there were many who took it as a personal offense and had even come out to protest against the developers saying this is unfair to the non-XBOX gamers.

But like in any industry, business comes first, and the decision to make the game as an XBOX exclusive was not reverted.

The move was a stroke of brilliance from Microsoft, as the XBOX, at that point of time was facing stiff competition from the PS4, which was marketing itself in the name of the Destiny game, which was breaking all the records at the time of it’s release.

Destiny had struck a deal with Sony where they had forbidden Microsoft to advertise the game in the UK markets. Microsoft snapped back with this deal with the Tomb Raider.

The Tomb Raider franchise has been one of the most popular gaming franchises of all times bordering into myth with reality, featuring the adventures of Lara Croft. The game has been very popular and has become a part of the modern day culture itself.

There have been movies, comics and many other mainstream promotions in the name of the Tomb Raider game. There have been many cosplayers who have donned the Lara Croft costume and have won competitions, innumerable men have been in love with the lady. It has been a part of us growing up and playing this game.

The bigger question, however, is that will this benefit or hurt the game franchise?

PS Loyalists feel cheated when they think that the game will not be coming out for them in the same time it will be coming out for the XBOX gamers. At one point of time PS systems were identified with the Tomb Raider franchise, however this time around the tables have turned on them.

To ease their pain they have at least one relief – the fact that uncharted would be releasing in the year 2016 for them, but is that enough to ease the pain that they will go through while they see the XBOX gamers erupt in joy over the franchise, posting images of them playing the game and posting screenshots while the PS4 gamers watch in dismay?

In my opinion this might hurt the franchise more than it benefits them, but it is a business move. The PS4 gamers would anyway buy it when it comes out. Win Win for both, XBOX as well as Tomb Raider when it comes to monetary aspects.

All about XBOX plans at E3 2015: Microsoft planning big reveals at the E3 Conference 2015!

May 29, 2015 By

All about XBOX plans at E3 2015: Microsoft planning big reveals at the E3 Conference 2015!If there is one thing that can be certainly said about Microsoft, it is the fact that the company is known for producing classic games for their console and they know how to market on the exclusivity standpoint.

They have managed to market theirselves really well, even in times when they were forbidden to directly market (case in point: Destiny in UK), and every time they come out with their own product for a launch they are more often than not, excellent at it.

Marketing and Microsoft go hand in hand and it has remained their core strength for a long time. Whether it be Bill Gates or Phil Spencer, or Satya Nadella himself, they’ve all known how to market stuff.

The E3 gives XBOX a major advantage to focus on their key strength of exclusivity. They do it pretty well.

Microsoft’s console, the XBOX does have a big advantage when it comes to exclusivity and they do have a knack for doing that well.

In a market which was hostile towards them, and when they had a limited launch and even a limited graphic processing capacity when compared to the PS4, they have finally, successfully managed to beat the PS at its own game and have defeated them at their own markets, making XBOX the highest selling console for the past few months.

Microsoft plans the following game reveals at E3:

Halo 5: Guardians – which is their primary flagship gaming series is expected to certainly make an appearance at the Microsoft’s E3 media briefing.

Recently an art reveal featuring two Spartan squadrons who look like they’re against one another was revealed, it appears that they might showcase the first halo 5 campaign at the event.

Rise of the Tomb Raider is another name which is definitely appearing on the E3 event, as this is one of the biggest exclusivity deals the company has.

With Lara Croft coming out with her next adventure this holiday season details are expected to be released at the E3. We might even get to see more of it at the Square Enix conference.

Forza Motorsport 6 is another game which is highly anticipated to make an E3 appearance at the Microsoft camp. Fable Legends is also likely to be shown off at the event.

What other games do you expect MS to reveal at the event? Comment below and let us know your opinions.
