Known to be a giant in the world of technology, Microsoft Mobiles has now been one of the biggest forces when it comes to the world of smartphone technology. The company has been evolving with time, and has been releasing several new updates and upgrades into the markets. Their latest update has been around the older devices, the Nokia Lumia phones which the company acquired after they took over Nokia’s mobile phone unit. The latest update brings the Windows 10 Mobile OS update for these phones.
Microsoft has now been working towards introducing this new update for the Lumia phones, and it was originally supposed to reach the users in the December of 2015. However after three delays, the update has finally come out now. Better late than never!
The update, in the past, was only available for the Lumia 950, Lumia 950 XL, Lumia 550 and the Lumia 650 users.
The update came out for the users of Lumia 1520, 930, 640, 640XL, 730, 735, 830, 532, 535, 540, 635 1GB, 636 1GB, 638 1GB, 430, 435, BLU Win HD w510u, BLU Win HD LTE x150q, and the MCJ Madosma Q501 devices.
Some of the popular phones such as the Lumia 520, Lumia 1020 and Lumia 1320 were visibly missing from the list, and the company has now released an official blog post stating why they decided to omit some popular devices.
“This list includes a limited set of Windows Phone 8.1 devices and does not include some devices that are currently running Windows 10 Mobile in the Windows 10 Mobile Insider program. As Windows 10 delivers significant new innovations, many older devices are not able to successfully upgrade without an impact on the customer experience. Our goal is to only offer the Windows 10 upgrade to devices that we are confident can continue to deliver a good customer experience,” the company said.
