Half Life 3 To Release In Full-VR: Executive Comments

Jul 18, 2016 By

Half Life 3 has been among one of the most anticipated games of all times. The game has been awaited for quite a long while, and any comments on the game are welcome by the gaming community at large. Let us take a look at two rather interesting comments. The first of them ccomes from a Valve engineer – who gives an optimistic point of view, while the second one is a little older statement from the CEO Gabe Newell.Half Life 3

Alan Yates, a hardware engineer at Valve commented on Reddit saying – “I was super fortunate to start at Valve right around the time Michael Abrash had begun the AR/VR research team. It was a much smaller team then than it is now, it has since grown to encompass about a third of the company, but the key individuals that solved most of the really hard technological problems and facilitated this generation of consumer headsets are still here working on the next generation.”

The real Gabe Newell, gave this statement in an interview in the past, when he was asked about the future of the Half Life series and the Half Life 3 game: “The only reason we’d go back and do like a super classic kind of product is if a whole bunch of people just internally at Valve said they wanted to do it and had a reasonable explanation for why. But you know if you want to do another Half-Life game and you want to ignore everything we’ve learned in shipping Portal 2 and in shipping all the updates on the multiplayer side, that seems like a bad choice. So we’ll keep moving forward. But that doesn’t necessarily always mean what people are worried that it might mean.”

The future does look interesting for those who have been awaiting the release of Half Life 3 since a decade now!

Half Life 3 – Release Date, Virtual Reality, More:

Jun 10, 2016 By

One of the most awaited names of recent times, Half Life 3 has been a game which has been anticipated to come out in quite a long time, but the developers have maintained a silence every time questions are asked about the game. The developers of the Half Life series, Valve, have been among some of the biggest, most established names in the markets over the past several years. The company has been changing many trends in the markets, and it has now been anticipated that they will soon be releasing the Half Life 3 game.

The current speculation was that the CEO was not confident enough to go with the game. He had stated openly in the past that there is no point for a third game if it does not contribute to the series. Gabe Newell had commented saying:

“The only reason we’d go back and do like a super classic kind of product is if a whole bunch of people just internally at Valve said they wanted to do it and had a reasonable explanation for why.

However, things now seem different, and it is expected that Valve would indeed be working on the Half Life 3 game soon. It is expected that this new effort is now towards building the game in a fully-VR environment, and it is likely to be shown off at next year’s E3 event. The release date, however, is not expected any time before the year 2018, which will commemorate 20 years of Half Life games.

Half Life 3 Update: To Now Release In 2018, In Full VR:

May 11, 2016 By

When it comes to the world of gaming, Half Life 3 has been one of the most awaited names of all times. The game is being developed by Valve, one of the most experienced companies when it comes to game development and production. The first game in the series came out in the year 1998, followed by the second Half Life game which came out in 2004. However, it has been 12 years since the release of Half Life 2, and the Half Life 3 game is yet to be announced.HL3_t-shirt

It is now being speculated that the game’s release has been delayed time and again for various reasons. In the past the biggest reason was that Gabe Newell, the Valve CEO thought that the game was a super-classic, and releasing it in modern times might end up hampering the good image the game had in the minds of the gamers in the past. Here’s his statement:

“The only reason we’d go back and do like a super classic kind of product is if a whole bunch of people just internally at Valve said they wanted to do it and had a reasonable explanation for why.

Other than that, a second major reason regarding why the game might be delayed is that of the fact that Marc Laidlaw, the man behind all the previous Half Life projects is no longer with the company. Creating a game in his absence is a challenging task.

Valve is expected to have started working on Half Life 3 now, and it is being anticipated that the company is indeed going to create a version of this game. Half Life 3 will now be releasing in a full-VR format. It has now been anticipated that the game will now be coming out in the holiday season of 2018.

Half Life 3: Major Hints That Indicate A Half Life 3 Game Might Release Soon –

May 8, 2016 By

Half Life 3 has been among some of the most awaited games of modern times, and gamers have been awaiting it to release for the past 12 years, with the company making no official announcements about it. It has now been anticipated that the game will be releasing soon. There have been many rumors which have added more credibility to the fact that the game might be coming out soon, and with the Half Life 3 rumors now gaining steam here’s our analysis of some of the hints that have been accidentally dropped in the recent times.HL3_t-shirt

  • txt in DoTA 2 Reborn update: This update for DoTA 2 Reborn actually came out last year, and it featured a text file, which was named HL3. While this might not directly be a hint, someone might have accidentally dropped it off, or who knows, it might actually be Valve just messing around with us! For those curious enough to look inside the file, click here.
  • Hidden Half Life Logo In Steam Sale: In another development to the ‘hints’ that have been dropped, a Redditor found out a lambda hidden inside the steam holiday sale. The hidden lambda can be seen on the left side of THIS image.
  • Virtual Reality: Following all this, in February, when Virtual Reality devices were all set to release for the public, the company came out with a Steam VR Performance Test, which would help the gamers know if their devices can run the games or not. There were files inside the folders of this test which teased Half Life 3 as well as Left 4 Dead 3.
  • JJ Abrams: JJ Abrams was recently asked about the Half Life movie that he was about to make. He has commented on it saying that they are currently recruiting writers and the work on the script shall begin soon.

These hints do account for the fact that a Half Life game is indeed cooking!

Half Life 3 Release Date Pushed To 2018 – To Release In Complete Virtual Reality Setting

May 6, 2016 By

The year was 1998, when the first Half Life game came out. The game was an instant success with the gamers, and six years later, when the second game in the series came out, the reaction was massive and it was one of the most popular games of the mid 2000s. The company has ever since been expected to release a Half Life 3 game, but that day has not come. 12 years have passed and the gaming community is still optimistic that a release will indeed happen.HL3_t-shirt

However, for those who have waited for the past 12 years, there’s a good news – the wait is about to end soon, as it now seems to be that the Half Life 3 game will finally release in 2018. The Half Life 3 game is now expected to release in a complete VR setting, and the users can do much more in it than in the present day VR games.

Valve and Steam are known to be working together on many projects, and with Steam now working on the HTC Vive, Valve too, is expected to follow them soon with some major games coming out, and what could be bigger than Half Life 3!

An immediate release seems highly unlikely, as the chief writer and creative director, Marc Laidlaw has no longer been working with the company. His absence creates a major void, and without his creative presence, the creation of a compelling game such as the first two parts is highly unlikely.

To add to the departure of Laidlaw, another reason why Half Life 3 is unlikely any time soon is because the CEO too is not as enthusiastic about the game. Gabe Newell said, “The only reason we’d go back and do like a super classic kind of product is if a whole bunch of people just internally at Valve said they wanted to do it and had a reasonable explanation for why.

Half Life 3: Release Of Half Life 3 Not Likely Before 2018:

May 5, 2016 By

Gaming has been something which has evolved over the past several years. From being just a part of the world of technology, gaming has now evolved and has become a multi-billion dollar industry on its own. One of the most popular names in the world of gaming has been that of the Half Life series of games. What made the Half Life games special was the kind of connection that they had with the gamers. The world of gaming is now awaiting the third installment in the Half Life series, the Half Life 3 game.HL3_t-shirt

The first game in the series came out in 1998, the second part in 2004, and the third part has since been awaited. Valve has never actually said that the Half Life 3 game is releasing for real. However the anticipation in the markets is high, and it has now been anticipated that the game will be coming out in the year 2018.

The delay in the release has been attributed to the fact that the Half Life 3 would be the first ever game to feature an immersive VR experience. The game is expected to feature the best of Virtual Reality technologies. The timing too, seems appropriate, as by then, the Oculus and HTC Vive devices would be come rather common, and with the PS VR and other such devices too rolling out, Virtual Reality will no longer be that inaccessible as it is right now.

A rapid change is coming ,and Half Life 3 is jumping right into it. The game might be delayed but it will certainly be worth the wait. There have been gamers who have been awaiting the release of the device for the past 12 years, and these gamers probably won’t mind waiting for another 2 years, as they will now be getting the best of the technology for it.

The release of Half Life 3, whenever it happens, is likely to go down in the books of history as the biggest game launch of all times.
