Gmail is one of the most popular email services in the world today.
More popularity has been contributed by the fact that to access the Android Market place, more popularly known as Google Play Store, you would need to have a Gmail ID to sign up with.
Gmail Ids are also necessary for signing in to YouTube and a few other services that are connected to Google.
Although there are some people who have gmail ids only for these reasons, there are many others that have selected this email service only because it is fast, reliable and has a lot of features.
Not only this, it combines emails and chat and the cloud storage service very intelligently in one page. Users are treated to a user friendly interface and all possible changes can be made in the settings of your account.
However, one feature that users have been requesting for a long time is the ability to schedule mails for sending out later.
This is something that Gmail has not really come up with ever before. Hence, for this, people have relied heavily on the third party applications like Boomerang, to have the mails scheduled to be sent out later. We will discuss Boomerang in this article as well.
As of now, Google is still making efforts to combine the feature to the web version of Gmail and also to the Inbox by Gmail app.
The project on which work is being done has been termed as Gmail Delay Send, which has been finally realized by developers after Google App Scripts API was released to them.
With Gmail Delay Send, the current version being Delay Send 8.0, the users will just have to compose the message and get them labeled. Post this, they need to add the time in which the message is to be sent out.
How To Install Gmail Delay Send 8.0 On Your Desktop Or Mobile:
In order to do this, you will have to visit https://script.google.com/a/macros, followed generally by your mail id or your domain name if it is purchased from Gmail. After this is done, you will see that you are requested for authorization to run the script.
Provide full authentication and choose enable. Once done, then you can Click the ‘Save preferences’ option. You can change the preferences by revisiting the link and making necessary changes.
Boomerang For Gmail:
If you are iffy about running scripts, then you can simply go for using Boomerang.
This app is not related to Google and is a product of Baydin Inc. but works perfectly with Gmail, Outlook and also has options of adding a special calendar, called Boomerang calendar.
You can visit the link for downloading Boomerang for free – http://www.boomeranggmail.com/l/send-later.html. Just follow the instructions and you will be able to now schedule mails for your device.
