Foxconn May Be Backed By SoftBank In Making Major US Investments And Generating 50,000 Jobs:

Dec 7, 2016 By

Foxconn, the top assembler for Apple’s products is slowly making its way into the US market, with the help of SoftBank, the Japanese investment giant. SoftBank CEO Masayoshi Son recently met with Trump in the US after he was elected president to discuss plans for US investment. Although very few sources have been able to gather information correctly about this confidential meeting, a couple of things have been discussed for sure.

In their meeting, Son and Trump discussed about Foxconn’s intentions of making investment in the US. This points at high chances for the fact that 50,000 US jobs can be created in the US.  Trump can use this as a slingshot to launch himself in the good books of non- supporters. Just like he had committed an investment value of $10 billion in India, it has decided to invest almost $50 billion in US alone. Such kind of money can be generated by SofBank only through its technology fund, which can currently has more than 100 billion US dollars in it. Out of this, 7 billion may be  the amount reserved by the firm for its investment into  Foxconn.

According to Foxconn, it is working to understand for sure how much of profit will be available to both parties so this can be worked upon. Asides, they refused to discuss any more details about the meeting with trump, stating that they could not disclose much about their confidential meeting with a ‘relevant US official. All pieces of the puzzle seem to fall back in place with this deal, as earlier Trump had already coaxed Apple to bring its production completely into US. At that point, everyone was busy forming views and voicing opinions about how expensive the iPhone 8 was going to be. Little did we know that with foreign money pouring into the country, Apple would not really face extreme losses here, as it had been projected.

Apple iPhone 6 – More leaked pictures of protruding camera lens

Aug 26, 2014 By

Apple iPhone 6 - More leaked pictures of protruding camera lensSometime earlier in the year, around the month of March, some photos leaked by an insider to Foxconn had been released.

These pictures were those of screenshots of a Computer made design of the iPhone 6.

Computer made design revealed a camera lens which was slightly protruding – something that had never been done by the iPhone line up before.

Along the same lines, last week, more pictures were leaked, further contributing to the protruding lens theory surrounding the iPhone 6. These images were Computer Aided Designs as well – they also showed the placement of buttons on the phone.

The images were related to the iPhone 6 4.7 inch version and both the prototypes of the 5.5 inch version.

However, what we see now as leaked images are not computer made pictures but real photographs taken by FoxConn insiders. This does not ensure authenticity and must not be considered as a true claim; chances are really high that it could be faked, misleading the readers.

It would be safe to only consider these pictures as possibilities of the device to look like this, if all the rumors are true and are realized on the phone.

The pictures depict a device which claims to be an iPhone 6, leaked by one of the most important parts manufacturers of Apple. The phone is seen to be missing the iPhone label, the Apple Logo and the FCC tag and is apparently still in the final stages of manufacturing.

The only thing in the device that really makes us think of an iPhone 6 is the protruding camera lens, just as rumors had proclaimed.

It is worth noticing that the buttons on the phone have also been differently placed. The phone has its power button relocated in this model. The iPhone 6 is also expected to come with a reversible USB cable, further adding to the convenience of users.

With the release date pegged around 9th September, not much time is left to make any major changes in design and if the leaks are authentic, then these pictures would definitely be true depictions of the iPhone 6.

Apple iPhone 6 size and camera Leaked images from Foxconn

Aug 25, 2014 By

Apple iPhone 6 size and camera Leaked images from FoxconnThe iPhone 6 is due for September 9th, 2014. Expectations are high, and patience is running low for all.

Amidst all this, a leakster comes up with leaks proclaiming to be photos of computer displays taken from Foxconn directly, with authentic detailed data about the upcoming device.

The 4.7 inch and the 5.5 inch versions have both been covered here and when assessed closely, you can find that the phone would be by far, the thinnest iPhone ever released.

With the launch date only a couple of weeks away, the chances are less that any of this data would be subject to change – there just isn’t enough time.

The pictures as iterated above show in depth specifications of the device’s size and other specs. To start with, picture one depicts the N51, with a size of 4.87 x 2.31 x 0.3 inches (123.8 x 58.6 x 7.6 mm) at a weight of 3.95oz (112 grams). This seems quite close to the dimensions that the iPhone 5s offered.

Subsequent to this, the N61 is shown, that in all probabilities must be the 4.7 inch model of the iPhone6. With the dimensions pegged at 5.44 x 2.64 x 0.27 inches (138.14 x 66.97 x 6.9 mm), we could not go wrong on this one. The phone seems to have evolved – the size is taller, wider and thinner. The weight however, is still a matter of contemplation as nothing is really clear.

The N56, that appears next could be the 5.5 inch phone. Here we have two different versions cropping up. The first version is at a size of 6.2 x 2.64 x 0.27 inches (158.0 x 77.12 x 7 mm) at a weight of 5.94 Oz (168.5 grams), while the second is pegged at 6.22 x 3.06 x 0.27 inches (158.07 x 77.79 x 7.1 mm) at a weight of 6.5 Oz (184.6 grams).

Both these reports support the claim that the iPhone 6 would be about 7mm thin. Although it is not as this as the Gionee Elife, it seems good for a thinner start.

Picture two contains some confidential information. The iPhone 6 would look pretty much like the dummies we have seen leaked before. Although doubt remains on Apple’s decision of concealing the plastic bands, the design would not be different and this fact is established.

The second revelation in the picture shows that the iPhone 6 would feature a protruding camera lens, further adding to its width. The total width would hence stand at 7.67mm, the 0.67 mm being contributed by the camera lens.

For the second version of the 5.5 inch model, 0.77 mm would be added by the camera lens, breaking the tradition of a flat rear as in previous models. The lens however, would be sapphire coated, hence you can lose the worry about it getting scratched. Seems like the Sapphire decision finally paid off for Apple!

iPhone 6: Foxconn Robots may be used to manufacture iPhone 6

Jul 8, 2014 By

iPhone 6 Foxconn Robots may be used to manufactureiPhone 6: At a recent shareholder meeting, Foxconn CEO, Terry Gou said that Foxconn’s longtime dream of using robots as its workforce may finally be realized.

The concept of a labor workforce first arised with the company amidst a lot of controversy.

At that time Foxconn was facing issues related to its labor policies with blames of bad labor policies and surprisingly, employee suicide reports which claimed that the company had been over burdening its employees.

Although the company at that time waved the issue aside claiming that the suicides were due to the personal problems of the victim, it fostered the idea of the robotic workforce to help existing workers.

Also, there had been an incident of over burdened workers in the factory during the manufacture of the iPhone 5c, when demands were too high to be fulfilled by the manpower strength in a limited amount of time. This further urged the company to go ahead with the concept.

Now going back to the shareholder meeting; Gou said that this concept was conceived 3 years ago but was abandoned due to some issues. However, Gou also said that at present about 10,000 robots are currently in line, waiting for their deployment, post the completion of their testing phase.

At the moment it is not very clear whether these 10,000 refer to advanced versions of the robotic arms already in use by the company or whether they mean actual robots, who can move around assisting or may be even replacing human workforce.

Code named ‘Foxbots’, these robots are claimed to be playing a major role in the production of the iPhone 6. Regardless, not all production seems to have been handed over to Foxbots – reports also claim that a massive workforce of about 100,000 humans has also been hired to carry out the production.

Such a move can be instrumental in doing away with issues as in 2012, when the overburdened workers struggled to meet targets, as a result of which many defective iPhones landed in the hands of the consumers. At this time, Foxconn was so short of targets that Apple was forced to turn towards the rival company Pegatron to help with the production of its cheaper 5C handset, easing the pressure on Foxconn and helping apple balance its supply chain.

Indeed this is dystopia, slowly unfolding in front of our very own eyes.
