Snapchat And WhatsApp To Get Simpler And Better:

Jan 26, 2016 By

Both Snapchat and WhatsApp are rushing to get more new features in their apps. With the rising number of apps each year, the pressure on the existing ones have risen as well. The need to emerge as the top most application has caused WhatsApp and Snapchat to start moving towards being the best application ever.

Snapchat, which is an application that is dedicated towards sharing conversations through camera images, is now aiming towards simplifying the chat screen all the more. The introduction of audio calls and simpler video calling, coupled with a text based interface is what the app is now planning to bring about. Other improvements in line include the introduction of support for digital sketches sharing and addition of pictures from the gallery. Some of these changes have already started to get reflected. The software savvy people across the world noticed a change of coding in the interface, which Snapchat has referred to as V2 of the chat interface. Reports state that the app might even introduce a video editing tool that could play videos backwards, but Snapchat has refused to comment.

Now coming to WhatsApp, the messaging app has also decided to bolster user experience by bringing about some important changes in the application. The application now plans to expand scope of services to important businesses like Airlines, fashion ranges, mega cabs, and the likes. Businesses would be profited because they would be able to interact with their customers directly, take suggestions and make changes accordingly. This would be important for the app as well, as the business would be charged for their services, further boosting earnings for the company. There are also rumors that the app might become completely free, that is it might stop charging users for the services. If this happens, then you can expect a lot of deactivated accounts being made active once again. However, the company has refused to comment on this.

Apple’s Data Centre In Italy Will Churn Out Thousands Of iOS Developers:

Jan 21, 2016 By

Apple is in plans of coming up with a new data centre in Europe. This data centre will train developers to make iOS Apps.

The world is abuzz with the news of Apple trying to expand its base of operations all around the world. After its immense success in the United States of America, the company is now geared towards making its business spread across the whole of Europe. So much is the positivity of the move, that the European countries are considering the outstanding taxes the Cupertino giant is yet to pay them back.

Perhaps one of the biggest moves that Apple has yet to make has prompted such thoughts from European governments. The company has recently announced plans of opening a new Application development center in Naples, Italy, where it is said that Apple will concentrate on development of applications for the iOS platform.

The recent surge in smartphone usage has caused the demand for smartphone app developers and other programmers for the mobile platforms to rise exponentially. Come to think of it, this is something that the world was not prepared for. Also referred to as the ‘App Economy’ by various sources around the world, the business of making and delivering apps has seen constant growth rate over the years. In fact, today to meet the demands, there are still a huge number of app developers that are yet to be employed, not to mention the huge income that the App economy is bringing to the countries around the world.

So where will all these developers actually come from? Apple has a smart solution. If you cannot find the right developers, make them. The app development center would also be involved in training thousands of developers to become highly skilled iOS developers. Special curriculum combined with practical training is expected to ensure maximum productivity and in turn a lot more jobs than the 1.4 million jobs already created by Apple in Europe.

Microsoft Apps On Google Play Store – Looking for Apps Made Easier

Dec 17, 2015 By

A list of Microsoft apps in the Google Play Store
A list of Microsoft apps in the Google Play Store

Google Play Store is a real jungle of apps, in which finding an app is generally like finding a needle in a haystack. Microsoft corporation however is smart enough to realize this and wants the average Play Store user to be able to find its apps at one go and not be beating about the bush for the same. It has hence come up with ‘Microsoft Apps’ which is actually a collection of most of its Microsoft applications clubbed together in one page so that the user can get everything in one go. This is a smart option to work things out and is an added advantage of keeping people interested in its products even though they choose not to be associated with a Microsoft mobile.

Many people have labeled this app as pointless as the app does nothing but group all Microsoft apps in one place. People habe considered this to be like a store within a store. Of course, the pointless factor is there to be sure, as the Google Play Store always lists Microsoft Excel as the first and most recommended application if you were to search for excel in the Google Play Store. Yes, this it does even though the two companies aren’t really fond of each other. At all.

Nevertheless, the two seem to have considered putting their personal grudges by, at least in terms of user satisfaction or at least it seems like that, as most users seem to be quite satisfied using Microsoft applications on their Android phones. Granted, that the apps are heavy and take up a good 100MB each on the phone, but lets come to the bottom line; no other application can do what Microsoft can do in terms of office apps at least. That is a good deal for any user as you can carry around all your work on your phone, without having to lug around a heavy laptop or a huge tablet for presentations.

Have Redmond and California really put everything behind them?

IBM To Launch 100 + MobileFirst Apps For iOS

Dec 16, 2015 By

maxresdefault

The collaboration of Apple and IBM is not very new. Back in the 1980’s the two had a bitter sweet relationship but in the competitive jungle both slowly learnt to coexist. In fact, today, they are at a position when they are actually thriving with each other. Apple’s hardware, combined with the software genius of IBM has actually lent a helping hand to the streamlining of business for many a corporate giant, Air Canada, AXS, Vodafone Netherlands and some renowned banks only to name a few of them.

The IBM MobileFirst for iOS initiative taken by IBM and Apple both aim at making businesses gain more benefit by being able to create an app setup on the mobile devices, particularly the iPhones, as more users have started preferring the iPhone to the iPad because of the convenient size and portability.

In a recent statement made by Katharyn White, Vice President of IBM and Apple Partnership for IBM Global Business Services, the applications covered under the IBM MobileFirst were versatile enough to suit almost 60 designations and 14 industries. These industries included areas like government, healthcare, telecommunications, transportation and insurance.

The best part of MobileFirst is that it does not have a rigid framework. IBM developers meet the employees and seek their opinions on how they would like to use the software and what they desire from the applications. After this, the developers design the app around the expectations of the the employees. Their basic motto is to keep their work simple and make work simple for the people using the applications.

Moreover, the idea of having applications relating to work on a mobile device comes into handy especially for job roles where it is really not possible for personnel to remain glued to one place at the PC. For example, a flight attendant at the Scandinavian airlines who is using an IBM software on an Apple device to look into the past preference history of passengers and provide them with better service would prefer to be able to have access on the plane and would not like to stick to the desktop. Similarly, for enterprises that have their service engineers on the move, a mobile app that gives them all information about orders, location of customers and quick tips on repairing on devices would actually prefer their information on a mobile device.

Watson combined with Siri would be a very powerful combination for such users and most of their issues would be well addressed.
