Apple Likely To Reveal 10.5 Inch iPad Pro in April Event

Mar 14, 2017 By

Apple’s new Apple Park campus has been the talk of the town in the tech community for the past several months. To mark its inauguration Apple is likely to hold an event in early April, where they will also be announcing a new iPad! The event will mark the launch of a 10.5 inched iPad Pro device. The report comes via macrumors, one of the most trusted websites when it comes to information relating to Apple.

It was earlier expected that this 10.5 inched iPad Pro will not launch any time before May or June. However, Apple paced their production, and the device is now ready to be announced in this event in early April. The confusion is still over where the event will take place. Apple’s new campus is all set to be inaugurated in early April, however, the auditorium where the event will take place is not expected to be open till the end of the year. Apple has named their auditorium in the new Apple Park Campus as ‘Steve Jobs Theater’.

The schedule of the auditorium’s opening is a little confusing, but that being said, an iPad Pro launch is imminent, as multiple sources have cited to macrumors that the device is indeed ready. Along with the 10.5 inched iPad Pro, a larger, 12.9 inched iPad Pro too will be announced. However, the larger iPad is not likely to go on sale any time before May or June due to production issues. These will be Apple’s mainstream products for the tablet markets this year.

Apple is also working on innovating the 10.5 inched device, where it would feature a nearly bezel-less display, as has been the trend with the latest devices this year. This also hints at Apple’s design style for the upcoming iPhone 8 which has been rumored for a long while to be bezel-less. More details on this when the tablet releases! Stay tuned.

iPhone 8 To Feature Fingerprint Scanner Inside The Display: Patents Reveal

Mar 2, 2017 By

Every year, the iPhone launch is one of the biggest, most anticipated events. It is the time of the year when Apple shows off their latest innovations. Apple’s upcoming device, the iPhone 8 is perhaps the most awaited iPhone ever. Part of it is due to the fact that this is the ten year anniversary of the iPhone and Apple plans to do something really special. Latest reports indicate Apple now has the patents approved for a fingerprint scanner embedded inside the display!

Yes, if patent documents are to be believed, Apple is now getting rid of the home button, and will instead have the entire screen act as a giant TouchID sensor. Basically, touching anywhere on the display will lead in fingerprint scanning. This patent was filed by Apple back in 2015, but has finally been approved. If true, this will be a major breakthrough for Apple.

The iPhone 8 is expected to feature many new innovations, mostly related to AR and product design. With the fingerprint scanner now embedded in the display, the gen-next iPhone 8 would feature an even bigger display than ever before. The phone will make use of this technology of embedded fingerprint scanner using a touch display that includes at one display layer, along with one transparent conductive layer which will help define the touch sensing pixels.

Apple, known to be a master-innovator over the years, is all set to bring a major change to the touchID system with this new display. Talking about the display, now that the home button will be gone, the iPhone 8 will also perhaps feature a larger display, free of all bezels, similar to how LG has done it with the LG G6 and how Samsung plans to do it with the Samsung Galaxy S8. This does look like quite an exciting concept from Apple! Stay tuned for more updates.

iPhone 7 Plus Catches Fire, Explodes; Apple Responds

Feb 24, 2017 By

While many smartphones have, over the years caught fire and blown up, this became a major issue in 2016 with the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 causing major panic across numerous countries. However, while it looked like things are slowing down, and people are forgetting these explosions, news suddenly broke that an iPhone 7 plus caught fire and exploded. This is the first such incident to have come to light. The iPhone belonged to Brianna Olives, who bought it from a Sprint store earlier this year.

Brianna says that she was sleeping with the phone charging near her head. Her boyfriend picked up the phone and kept it near dresser, and was heading to the restroom when he noticed that the phone is steaming. He heard a strange noise, and immediately threw it into the restroom. The phone caught fire when it was thrown into the restroom, and Brianna’s boyfriend recorded it with his phone. The video of the exploding iPhone 7 Plus was put up on Twitter where it has since got over 25,000 retweets and likes. It has been covered by numerous tech outlets as well as mainstream media.

Apple was quick to respond and said that they are looking into the matter. The company replaced the iPhone, and gave Brianna a brand new iPhone 7 Plus. It is also worth noting that Brianna was facing issues with the phone in the past. She said that the phone was not turning on, and so she took it to Sprint for service. The Apple employee who worked on it too, commented stating the phone looked weird when it was turned on, but it is impossible to predict that it would explode.

The diagnostic tools of Sprint indicated that the phone was fine. It was a rather unfortunate incident, and we are now awaiting Apple’s official response on what went wrong with this phone. The company is currently performing various tests on the device. Following the Samsung scandals, smartphone 7companies are being extremely careful about fire hazards.

Apple Could Have Bought Israel Based Tech Company, RealFace

Feb 20, 2017 By

Israeli tech firm RealFace may be the final missing ingredient to introduce facial recognition to the next iPhone. The iPhone 8 (if at all that is the name of the next iPhone) is expected to have more than just a fingerprint sensor to recognise you – it might now want to first see your face before it lets you use your phone. This facial recognition capacity, which has been used in the MacBook before, has been long envisioned in the iPhone too. But with rumors spreading about Apple’s alleged acquisition of Israeli Tech Firm RealFace, it might finally seem to be a much closer to becoming a reality.

Based out of Tel Aviv, RealFace has previously seen some popularity with its application, called Pickeez, that was essentially devoted towards picking the best photo from a group of images. However, ever since the news of the acquisition has been heard, it has also been noticed that the website of RealFace is down and Pickeez seems not to be functioning.

Claims that the company is now under the flag of Apple were also made by one of the Israeli sites, the Calcalist, that mentioned that the deal between RealFace and Apple was reportedly closed off at millions of dollars, but the specifics are currently still at large. This secretive purchase is of course, not the first one. The Cupertino giant has made similar purchases before to boost its own productivity, and product value. A notable example of this may be the acquisition of Emotient, a company that was a start up firm dedicated to developing Artificial Intelligence capable of reading human facial expressions and mentioning the emotion they were experiencing. This seems to be another link pointing to Apple’s endeavour towards making the dream of facial recognition in iPhones possible.

So far, little is known about the iPhone 8 and when it is going to be launched but something big may be cooking in Apple’s kitchen and it is definitely going to be one to watch out for.

Apple To Hold WWDC 2017 Conference At San Jose – iOS 11, macOS 10.13 Expected

Feb 17, 2017 By

A global giant when it comes to the world of technology, Apple has been around for several decades now, and has been one of the most influential names in global tech trends. Apple has been a master of product design and innovation, but they have also given equal importance to the software development. The WWDC conference is held every year to get the best of the brains from around the world and discuss software! Apple has just announced the WWDC 2017 dates. The event will be held from the 5th to the 9th of June in San Jose.

WWDC 2017

This is a refreshing change, as for the past 13 years, this event was being held in San Francisco. However, the WWDC event is no stranger to San Jose, as the first ever Worldwide Developers Conference was held here in 1990! Apple last held the event here in 2002. It’s been 15 years and this time, Apple says they are in talks with local businesses to ensure “very special experiences” around San Jose during the WWDC 2017.

The event has been moved to San Jose this year as it closer to the Cupertino based corporate office. However this is only a speculation and Apple has given no reasons. Phil Schiller, Apple’s head of marketing announced the dates. He stated that the WWDC 2017 will focus a lot on all four of Apple’s Operating Systems – iOS, macOS, tvOS and watchOS. Schiller also said that the event will be home to the same number of people as ever before. This indicates that some 5000 developers and 1000 engineers will be a part of the event this year too.

Apple will also be streaming the event live for those who will not be able to attend. Registrations for the WWDC 2017 will begin on the 27th of March, but the final list will be prepared on the basis of a lottery system. We are excited for the event, and it is highly anticipated that Apple will announce the iOS 11 and the macOS 10.13 at this event. Stay tuned with us for more updates on WWDC 2017.
