Amazon Flying Warehouse Equipped with Drones for Home Delivery

Dec 29, 2016 By

How about you get your packages delivered by unmanned drone via air? Sounds cool, isn’t it? This April, online giant Amazon had filed the patent for a flying warehouse carrying drones that will help it deliver goods across the country. The brand new Amazon flying warehouse ‘airborne fulfilment centre’ was registered at the U.S. patent and trademark office.

Amazon Flying Warehouse will deliver packages in just 30 minutes.

Why was Amazon Flying Warehouse Introduced?

Amazon believes that this interesting combination of drones and flying warehouse will help deliver goods ten times faster than ground based warehouses. With this project, Amazon intends to roll out international deliveries all over the world within 30 minutes of ordering.

Where can We find Them?

The patent covers specially designed vehicles that will hover about 45,000 feet or 14,000 m in the air. This portable warehouse would be carried by airships. They’ll be sent to places where Amazon products are in high demand. Besides these, Amazon airships act as minor shuttles taking drones to festivals, local sporting events and famous places.

Did Amazon Test this Service?

Amazon kicked off their first ‘Prime Air’ delivery via drones earlier this month. They dropped off a package at the customer’s place within 13 minutes of its placement. The pilot testing experiment was successfully completed in the United Kingdom. Now, this multi-millionaire investment awaits approval from the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) to start Amazon air delivery in the Unites States.

What can We Expect in Future?

Other than the Amazon flying warehouse, we can expect new Amazon grocery stores without checkout lines in the United States. This project is in the testing phase in Seattle. If you want to purchase something from Amazon stores, you just need to tap your smartphones and login to your Amazon account as you enter inside.

Amazon will automatically add items to your cart. Once you’re done with shopping and you walk out, the app will charge your Amazon account for the supplies.

Amazing isn’t it? Now you don’t have to stand in long queues to wait for your turn.

Amazon begins Drone delivering systems testing in Great Britain:

Jul 26, 2016 By

The E-Commerce giant Amazon has long envisioned the use of autonomic drones to deliver products from door to door. Although this has not been completed, the project is in its testing phases. The good news is that the very first testing functions will be launched soon and Amazon has picked United Kingdom rural and Suburban areas as his first testing venue.

Drone delivery system is something that is quite unique and has never been attempted by any other E-commerce website before. The company has aimed at creating this new project with the help of United kingdom’s season aviation authority. The alien technology that will Virtually mark the beginning of an automated delivery system will soon resume function after the test results are proved accurate.

If you are thinking that the Drone which Amazon would use would be remotely operated by a person standing at the spot just like your kids use a remotecontrolled toy,  you are definitely wrong. The device would surely be operated by a human but it would not be done from that very spot. The person at the controlling and would not be within the line of sight of the Drone at all. However, it would be under the 400 feet of airspace.

As wonderful as this technology is it is not without its on disadvantages. Although it does save the company a lot of cost of paying manpower to travel to every house, it does have affair of theft. With the technologically advanced in world, people are at the height of their knowledge even in terms of hacking a device on corrupting it. We can she be sure that there would be some vandals who would be there to bring down the drones and steel stuff that other people order. Apart from this the authority is in various places have argued that it could be responsible in putting a number of more people out of their jobs. Inversely it will create employment in the Robotics industry where people will be employees to create the numerous drones that Amazon would require point also employment opportunities would be created for the people adept at maintaining these drones since regular maintenance and operating requirements would also be present.

Downside of drones are evident with simple memes on the internet. Image courtesy Lolindian.

At this point people are not concentrating on the weak points because a new technology should be allowed to develop an essential stages. When problems occur, solutions are invented immediately the saving ways for technology to consume the world completely.
