Microsoft has been a company which has been around the markets of technology for the past 40 years. The company has been innovating their way through time, and has been one of the biggest and most prominent players in the hardware markets. Microsoft has now managed to bring forward a major change in the way the markets function, and it has been further anticipated that they are expected to move forward in their hardware business, with the release of one of their most awaited devices of all times – the Surface Phone.
The Surface Phone has been in the rumors for a year now, early rumors had begun last year in July, and we are yet to hear an official confirmation. However, if the market speculations are to believed, the Surface Phone is indeed going to release, and it will be coming out in the year 2017. According to new information that has come out a few days ago, the device will not be the only Surface device launching at that time, as the Surface Book 2 is also expected to launch alongside it.
In Ocotber, the company is expected to release the Surface 5 and the Surface Pro 5 (with the rumors of a Surface Mini too). Microsoft is expected to release the Surface Phone in the following three variants based on the storage space and RAM:
- A Basic version with 4GB of RAM along with 64GB of storage space,
- The Advanced version which features 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage space,
- The Pro Variant, with 8GB of RAM and 512GB of storage space.
Microsoft’s Corporate VP of Windows Kevin Gallo has commented on the matter, saying that the next Windows 10 Mobile OS device would be involve ‘category innovating’. While he specifically did not name the Surface Phone, it is highly anticipated that this is the device he is referring to here. Kevil made these statements to The Register, “We’re really aligned to what we’ve done on the Windows desktop […] which is we’ll lead with some high end and category innovation like we’ve done with Surface, and OEMs will go and build the breadth of the catalog,” Gallo said in the report.
