Microsoft has been a company which has been a giant in the world of technology for the past 40 years. The company has been one of the most popular names in the world of software markets, and has been advancing rapidly when it comes to Operating Systems. The Windows 10 OS and the Windows 10 Mobile OS have been two of the biggest releases by Microsoft of recent times, and the company has actually done a good job at it. They were now expected to be working on the Surface Phone device – a mobile phone which was expected to change the very landscape when it comes to Microsoft’s Mobile ventures.
However, if the rumors and speculations are to be believed , it is expected that Microsoft is going to cancel the Surface Phone project, and the company is also going to pull the plug off the Windows 10 Mobile OS at large. Microsoft has noticed that the company is making major losses when it comes to the world of smartphone devices, and Microsoft, having already invested tens of billions of dollars in their smartphone division, is actually looking forward towards a terrible downward curve.
The company has been losing out money, and the Surface Phone, despite expected to be a good device, is still not assuring Microsoft of the desired stability they want. The company might be looking forward towards never actually releasing the Surface Phone at all.
Further hints were dropped when the company did not talk about the Windows Phone or the Windows 10 Mobile devices at all during the Build 2016 event.
“We’re going to do some cool things with phones, but this year phones are an important part of our family but not the tip of the spear,” Windows chief Terry Myerson told popular website, The Verge. This is probably a sign of things to come – the future of the Surface Phone looks rather bleak now.
