Feb 18, 2016 By

Security is, and was always one of the biggest concerns when it comes to the world of technology. Not just limited to the world of technology, even in life, security is one of the most essential elements for a peaceful living. As stated in the Maslow’s pyramid, one indeed needs security as the most essential need after their need for basics. Instagram has now realized this, as the company has doubled up their security features in a new update. Instagram users now get a two factor authentication system, thereby ensuring their safety.

The company has recently hit 400 million users and have aInstagram new update brings 2 new tools: Color and Fade!ccounts which are followed by several million users. Everybody from actors to bands to sports stars to politicians to government officials are now having their Instagram pages, and at this point of time, it is absolutely critical for the company to boost up security measures. Instagram has now begun rolling out a two factor authentication system.

The two factor authentication adds an additional layer of security in protection of the account. This basically means that when you want to reset your password, you would be sent a code on your phone. This is a practice followed by other social media giants such as Twitter and Snapchat for quite a while now. Instagram’s parent company, Facebook, too uses this kind of an authentication system.

The update was first pointed out by Tech Crunch, and according to newer reports, it now looks like the company is slowly rolling out this update, and while not everyone will get it at the same time, it will be there in a short course of time.

Instagram gets a major boost in credibility with this, as the company can now offer the users a greater amount of comfort with their two factor authentication security measures. The company has also updated their iOS and Android app to introduce the multi-account login feature.
