Xbox One users do not have to stick to the games released for their console only anymore. The console has long promised backward compatibility and has kept its promise.
Back in the earlier part of 2015, when the E3 was held, the Redmond giant promised users that it would make the Xbox One come with backward compatibility, that would let older console games to run on the console perfectly. The event hosted some clips of the classic game ‘Mass Effect’ running flawlessly on the Xbox One. Along these lines, there have been other games made to work on the Xbox One and we are going to discuss which ones are to be played this holiday season.
You can celebrate Christmas by playing the following games on the Xbox One:
- Braid
- Deus Ex: Human Revolution
- Doritos Crash Course
- Fable III
- Halo: Reac
- Hydro Thunder
- Iron Brigade
- Kane & Lynch 2
- Motocross Madness
- MS.PAC-MAN
- Peggle
- Portal: Still Alive
- Spelunky
- Splosion Man
- Ticket to Ride™
- Zuma’s Revenge!
More games will be made compatible with the Xbox One very soon. This move by Microsoft has proved to be a big business advantage for the company as users have started playing most of these games out of nostalgia in the holiday season. A recent report has proved that ever since the backward compatibility has been launched, the users have been logging game hours at unexpected rates and till date the number of hours logged collectively has reached a massive 9 million hours. This data has been captured starting 12th November till date.
This year has been good for Microsoft in terms of games launched for the console. Some rather important games have shown up and are expected to come for the console very soon. As of now, users can enjoy all the games mentioned above and along with these, they can play games like Fallout 3, Gears of War 3, Just Cause 2, Assassin’s Creed II and DiRT 3 as well.
