Xbox One Backward Compatibility Takes Shape – Xbox 360 Games Supported Finally

Dec 17, 2015 By

Backward compatibility
Xbox One supports Xbox 360 titles. Now enjoy more games on your new console.

Xbox One users do not have to stick to the games released for their console only anymore. The console has long promised backward compatibility and has kept its promise.

Back in the earlier part of 2015, when the E3 was held, the Redmond giant promised users that it would make the Xbox One come with backward compatibility, that would let older console games to run on the console perfectly. The event hosted some clips of the classic game ‘Mass Effect’ running flawlessly on the Xbox One. Along these lines, there have been other games made to work on the Xbox One and we are going to discuss which ones are to be played this holiday season.

You can celebrate Christmas by playing the following games on the Xbox One:

  1. Braid
  2. Deus Ex: Human Revolution
  3. Doritos Crash Course
  4. Fable III
  5. Halo: Reac
  6. Hydro Thunder
  7. Iron Brigade
  8. Kane & Lynch 2
  9. Motocross Madness
  10. MS.PAC-MAN
  11. Peggle
  12. Portal: Still Alive
  13. Spelunky
  14. Splosion Man
  15. Ticket to Ride™
  16. Zuma’s Revenge!

More games will be made compatible with the Xbox One very soon. This move by Microsoft has proved to be a big business advantage for the company as users have started playing most of these games out of nostalgia in the holiday season. A recent report has proved that ever since the backward compatibility has been launched, the users have been logging game hours at unexpected rates and till date the number of hours logged collectively has reached a massive 9 million hours. This data has been captured starting 12th November till date.

This year has been good for Microsoft in terms of games launched for the console. Some rather important games have shown up and are expected to come for the console very soon. As of now, users can enjoy all the games mentioned above and along with these, they can play games like Fallout 3, Gears of War 3, Just Cause 2, Assassin’s Creed II and DiRT 3 as well.

Netflix re-encoding entire library to save data:

Dec 17, 2015 By

Streaming content has become the latest ‘big thing’ in the world of technology. Content has been quickly transitioning from television to streaming networks, and in a few short years television is going to be completely taken over by streaming services. When we take a look at the streaming services, Netflix emerges as one of the biggest names in the markets of streaming. In fact, it is THE biggest name there. The company has been coming out with a large number of services for its users, and their content has been widely appreciated. Netflix ‘originals’ are among some of the most appreciated shows on television right now, including shows like Orange is the new Black, Daredevil, Jessica Jones, House of Cards and many more.netflix-logo

At the moment, Netflix is busy re-encoding its entire library, the results of which would end up saving data by as much as 20% for the viewers. Netflix had to take this step because of the fact that it has emerged as the highest source of broadband data consumption in the US.

When they originally encoded the videos, Netflix used the logic that the encoding would depend upon your broadband speed. Basically, HD copies of a movie with as simple graphics such as ‘my little pony’ would be encoded at the same bitrate as ‘avengers’, which requires a very high visual detail. Basically the data consumed for both the movies would be the same under Netflix’s earlier algorithm.

Netflix has realized that due to their massive content availability, it is impractical to manually encode every video. They have hence teamed up with the University of Texas, University of South California and University of Nantes, who have been working to automate this process.

This move also makes sense because Netflix is about to work on a major global expansion plan, and is also planning to enter developing countries, where the internet speeds might not be so high. IN order to combat the problems there, this step was necessary.

Google Drive File Searches Are Now Simpler, Thanks To This Amazing Update From Google

Dec 11, 2015 By

maxresdefault

Google Drive users are already blessed with a lot of free storage from the company for making things better from the data backup point of view. You can store data and also have it handy to access it from any location and from any device very easily. With Google Drive in place, it is no longer essential for a user to carry around data storage devices like external hard disks or USB drives. Asides, these devices run a risk of contracting an infection when you plug them into devices that you are not acquainted with. At times a simple virus scan can cure the infection, but certain trojans tend to tamper with the registries and other internal files, thus damaging the drive completely and causing total loss of data. This is where Google drive comes in. Now instead of storing just on an external device, a copy saved over the internet should serve as a lifesaver should your memory storage be compromised.

However, if you are an avid Google Drive user and have always preferred storing data here, then I am pretty sure that  by now there must be loads of data stored there. Finding a specific file in this dump might just feel like looking for a needle in a haystack. So when you look for a needle in a haystack, what do you use? The logic is simple, we use a magnet. In this case, the magnet comes in form of a update from Google that will help you to find files much more easily.

With this particular update, you will now be able to search for files based on the kind of file type you are looking for, simply by keying in the extension of the file in the search bar. This will narrow down the number of files you have, thus making life easier. However, if this does not work, you might want to go to the advanced settings by directly going to the search box. Here you can search by date, words contained in it, or even by the name of the person who has permission to view/edit the file.

On the iOS, the new Google Drive will respond perfectly to the changes in the 3D touch technology and will be able to prevent loss of data by a feature termed as ‘Data Loss Prevention’.

Destiny Adds Sparrow Racing League To Its New Game For PS4:

Dec 7, 2015 By

Destiny Sparrow Racing League has recently been announced by Bungie. In this version of the game, you will be making use of the bikes that were normally used for travelling from one point to the other in the previous game installments.

Destiny Sparrow Racing League
Guardians racing against each other on their sparrow bikes in Destiny Sparrow Racing League

Let us first take a look at what Destiny is. The game was created to be a first person shooter game by the developing studio named Bungie. They created the game in collaboration in with Activision in 2014. The game generally requires you to shoot down aliens and keep the last city of the earth safe, failing which humanity will be wiped out.

However, this year, which is actually year two in the life cycle of Destiny, Bungie plans to give its players a little twist. Instead of shooting aliens and saving a city, you will now be using your bikes to race against each other. A brief trailer was seen with the PVP races and certain enemies which are AI based. On the PS4, the users who play this game will be able to see customization options, hopefully. This is because the sparrow bikes are generally workman like bikes and are rather underdeveloped.

There are also questions and doubts in fans minds. Bungie and Destiny have always been associated with shooting and action, but they have never really created a racing game. People are doubtful about Bungie’s ability to create a game like that. Moreover, blending a racing game with a serious first person shooter title would be a little out of place, don’t you think? It would be weird if the Guardians go to a planet and are challenged by aliens to a bike race. Or perhaps they race about when they are not shooting? Sounds silly, but that is all I can think of. I do not know how they plan to do it, but it would take really take a really good story line to convince the players!

Final Fantasy VII Remake – Watch Trailer Here:

Dec 6, 2015 By

Final Fantasy VII has been remade by Square Enix. The teaser trailer of this game was first shown at the E3 2015. The event garnered much appraisal from fans and since then, everyone has been waiting for a release.

Final Fanstasy
Final Fantasy VII remake features great graphics and very different gameplay.

This morning, Final Fantasy VII remake trailer was displayed at the PlayStation Experience Keynote. Although it was declared that the original game for PS4 is available today, there is still no update on when we can see the remade version on PS4 exactly.

If you see the trailer carefully, you will be able to note that the remake is much better in terms of graphics as compared to the original PS1 game. However, if you remember, there was a clear word from the creator, Tetsuya Nomura, that the game’s remade version would not be anything too close to the original one. Along these lines, major deviations from the main game are bound to come your way, giving you a very different feel when you play this game; it will feel almost like new.

The characters and the story line is quite similar, but the mode of playing the game is not the same. Several new challenges come your way, giving the game a completely new turn.

Many critics have said that the game looks starkly similar to the XV version of the game and that it cannot be exactly considered as a remake. Nevertheless, the game has been able to create a new aura in its plot, although most of the features of the plot will be revisited. The developers have done a commendable job anyway and the assignment has been similar to launching a new game rather than revamping an old one. Some changes that can be noticed are shown in this video:

The Original PS1 game has been released for the PS4 today. Meanwhile, Square Enix can see the game on the PS4 and then decide on what to rectify or implement a per their requirements.

We do not know how the game would actually fare or how people would like the game. The trailer looks exceptionally good, so the game should also turn out to be equally good.
