Rise Of The Tomb Raider Baba Yaga DLC – How Was It Received?

Jan 31, 2016 By

The Baba Yaga DLC was a celebrated addition to the Rise Of The Tomb Raider game, which is a part of Xbox One games.

All  about the Baba Yaga – according to the Slavic folklore.

The Rise of the Tomb Raider game came as a follow up to the first Tomb raider game that was launched in 2013. This sequel was launched in 2015 November and has since then drawn a lot of positive feedback. But the game makers are not done with the game yet; they have been supplying content to the players of the game, particularly to those on the Xbox One. Its latest addition to the game was in the form of The Baba Yaga – Temple of The Witch DLC. Also known as Baba Yaga DLC, the game involved Lara’s journey deep inot the the forests if the Eastern Europe, and in this case, in the Siberian forests as well, where she is sent to find people who were lost during a mission. The jungle is full of dangers, and you’ll know how much if you have read the description of Baba Yaga in the picture above. Since she can control animals and people alike, the witch has apparently put these lost peopple in a trance where they will attack her while Lara is alone scouring the forests to find them and to uncover the Baba Yaga mystery.

Naturally, this story, derived so well from a folklore that has scared many a kids in their childhood was able to bag the game an AOTF award for being the best story of the year. It also comes with moments where Lara is confused, trying to fight off creatures that are actually just in her head. Some are real, while others are figments of her imagination and she has to ward them off the complete the game. The game graphics are perfect for the stry of the game and since Lara also seems to be affected by the psychologically disturbing spells of the witch, the graphics will appear unclear and trippy to you.

On the downside we fell that the game could have been a little more longer, but the boss fight was excellent and really pushes up the standards.

Snapchat And WhatsApp To Get Simpler And Better:

Jan 26, 2016 By

Both Snapchat and WhatsApp are rushing to get more new features in their apps. With the rising number of apps each year, the pressure on the existing ones have risen as well. The need to emerge as the top most application has caused WhatsApp and Snapchat to start moving towards being the best application ever.

Snapchat, which is an application that is dedicated towards sharing conversations through camera images, is now aiming towards simplifying the chat screen all the more. The introduction of audio calls and simpler video calling, coupled with a text based interface is what the app is now planning to bring about. Other improvements in line include the introduction of support for digital sketches sharing and addition of pictures from the gallery. Some of these changes have already started to get reflected. The software savvy people across the world noticed a change of coding in the interface, which Snapchat has referred to as V2 of the chat interface. Reports state that the app might even introduce a video editing tool that could play videos backwards, but Snapchat has refused to comment.

Now coming to WhatsApp, the messaging app has also decided to bolster user experience by bringing about some important changes in the application. The application now plans to expand scope of services to important businesses like Airlines, fashion ranges, mega cabs, and the likes. Businesses would be profited because they would be able to interact with their customers directly, take suggestions and make changes accordingly. This would be important for the app as well, as the business would be charged for their services, further boosting earnings for the company. There are also rumors that the app might become completely free, that is it might stop charging users for the services. If this happens, then you can expect a lot of deactivated accounts being made active once again. However, the company has refused to comment on this.

Will WhatsApp Actually Drop Annual Charges?

Jan 18, 2016 By

WhatsApp, one of the most inportant applications in the world, especially when it comes to internet messaging. The application is compatible with all the platforms of the world. It is free to download and use, but after the first year of usage, it is mandatory that you pay. And when it comes to payment, many people have had different views about the same.

Of late, a new piece of news has emerged over the internet, something that is really tough to believe at this point. The news around the world states that WhatsApp might drop subscription charges completely. The app currently charges users about $0.99 per year from the second year of usage and dropping charges would mean that WhatsApp might completely cost us nothing at all to use.

According to Wall Street Journal, the founder of the application, Jan Koum, has stated that the application will now no longer charge the users for the services it provides. This was declared at the Digital Life Design conference in Munich, Germany, where he addressed people and explained the vision of the company and of Facebook in bringing the world together. He mentioned that Zuckerberg wanted WhatsApp to generate revenue for him till they had reached a billion number of users. This has now been completed.

The company might actually want to do this, because they realise that in the developing countries not many might have access to credit card to make payments. These people eventually quit WhatsApp after a payment has been asked as they are unable to pay.

WhatsApp has started inching towards this right from the time the company had started the paid services. The users would generally get about 3 to 4 months of extension but the payment was not accepted at this point. It was probably this that marked the beginning of the era of a completely free WhatssApp, free of payment ties.

Time Warner Cable User Accounts Could Be Under Potential Threat

Jan 9, 2016 By

With the advent of technological advance and the growing use of internet around the world, no service goes completely free of any cyber threats, not even if your organisation is as big as Time Warner Cable. The television network providing giant was recently in the throes of a serious security breach which was immediately alerted to users.

Time Warner Cable informed users that there could have been a situation where the passwords and other account related information was temporarily compromised. Although no major damage seems to have been inflicted, this is a warning signal for the company to tighten up security even further. TWC was alerted by Federal Bureau of Investigation about the issue, to which the VP of Public Relations, Nathalie Burgos responded by saying that she was confident of the TWC systems capability of protecting user information and that there was no evident breach, but investigations were still being run. Burgos is of the view that the information tap could be the result of malware that the server encountered, further being unable to prevent a phishing attack.

However, the organization feels that up to 320,000 accounts of customers may have been compromised. Although there is no exact proof that that many number of accounts were actually hacked, the Time Warner Cable took initiatives to inform all the customers under threat to be quick in changing the passwords of the accounts that they were using. This would be the best way to stem the leak in the system for the time being; the company already has the  experts working on the causes of the breach and a means of fixing it.

The company has advised users who feel that their accounts might have been hacked should immediately get in touch with the Time Warner cable team at 1-844-899-8913. For those who rely on the company for their business needs should reach the helplines at  1-866-892-4249.

Facebook Messenger Has The Highest Growth Rate Among Apps In 2015:

Jan 7, 2016 By

Facebook Messenger has been able to come to the number one position in terms of growth in User headcount.

If you compare the current strength of WhatsApp that is about 900 million users to what Facebook Messenger now has, then you will see that the 100 million users that are less in the messenger is not too bad as compared to what the gap was in 2014. The number of users is still less than WhatsApp, but considering the number of features that the application is going to bring to the users, the number is bound to increase very soon.

So what was the reason for Facebook to show more growth as compared to what other apps did?

Facebook as compared to WhatsApp brought about a lot of changes. It brought about a change in the interface and made chats even better. Apart from simple interface changes, some major changes were also introduced. The application allowed users to book UBER rides through the Messenger. This feature was introduced after Facebook worked closely with UBER technologies for quite some time. The messenger also allowed US users to send money to their friends also living in the US.

This is not the only big change that Facebook will be restricted to. In future, Facebook will introduce a new digital assistant called M, which will help users to use it like they use Siri, Cortana or Google Now. It will also continue to make ads even more relevant so that in future users can make purchases from the messenger directly.

On the contrary, WhatsApp, which is also a Facebook owned app and continues to have the record of having the highest number of active users till date, has not been able to come up with too many changes. It came up with one major change, that is it introduced WhatsApp Calls, but on the whole the response has been low because nothing more was brought about. Perhaps the growth rate would rise if WhatsApp brought video calling, but it couldn’t make it in 2015.
