1.7 Billion Dodgy Google Ads Were Removed from the Biggest Online Ad Network

Jan 25, 2017 By

Google is a strict invigilator when it comes to publishing ads online. Despite implementing strict standards on its massive ad network, several fraudsters end up using the biggest virtual advertisement portal for nefarious purposes. Nevertheless, being the global technology giant, Google is set on using its own analytics to resolve this issue. After thoroughly checking last year’s data, the company claimed it had removed about 1.7 Billion Google ads that violated its advertisement and promotion policies. Shockingly, the number was twice as that of the previous year.

New, updated policies were used to remove shady looking Google ads online.
New, updated policies were used to remove shady looking Google ads online.

In last few months, the company was caught up in the web of fake news. After their newly-optimized search analytics removed both legit as well as unreliable news feed from the system, the company updated its ad network to increase the visibility of legit news.

Secondly, seeing that the number of fake adverts is rising at an alarming number, the company decided to change its Google ads policy in 2016. The new policy was introduced in July 2016. It aimed at tracking predatory or misleading ads, especially the commercials involving payday loan, unapproved pharmaceuticals, deceptive and counterfeit products. Following their new ad removal campaign, approximately five million Google ads were eliminated from the Google ad network.

But this isn’t all! Simultaneously, the company has been working on its ad-spotting technology that could remove shady Google ads swiftly and more efficiently. They’ve launched a feature called ‘Trick to click’ that comes with system warning. Since ads can lead you to potentially harmful sources, most of the shady looking ads come with system warning.

Additionally, they’d devoted their time to ‘tabloid clocking’ or ‘clickbait advertising’. The clickbait ads are falsely presented in a tabloid-like form to gain attention. About 1,300 fake accounts involved in this issue and 22 ‘clockers’ were busted last year.

Regardless of Google strengthening their policies, the battle doesn’t end here. The scammers regularly come up with elaborate methods to trick their system. Nevertheless, the company is bent on creating an open, sustainable and spam-free ad network for both the consumers as well as the providers in future.

Sluggish iPhone Sales Force Apple To Reduce iPhone Production By 10%:

Jan 2, 2017 By

A shocking truth has gripped the world’s premium tech company; Apple has been forced to cut down on iPhone production even further.

Image result for iPhone 7

The sales graph for the iPhone first started dipping back in the year 2015, when even by the year end, there was still a long line of iPhone 6S phones waiting in Apple’s warehouses and stores to be sold off. Despite good marketing moves, the phone seemed to move really slowly in the market, further causing sales figures to plummet. The Cupertino giant resorted to desperate ways to keep itself afloat; the production had to be cut down by 20%.

However, this strong move by Apple has had little effect on the phone’s reception and movement through the market. The iPhone 7 shows signs for slow sales, further causing Apple to come to a major conclusion – to cut the production of the Phone further by 10%, which would affect the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 plus. The premium phone manufacturer has not relented to this sales crunch and has not declared any price cuts to get the stock to move.

The reasons for this fall in sales that have been assessed by experts range from failure to meet phone demand due to lack of steady supply of camera sensors, to the inability of the company to rouse the interest of people with the new phones that they make. Users have often come up with the monotony of design and features.

Experts are of the view that the demand of the iPhone 7 in Japan might remain steady because of the high availability of places to make contactless payments. The iPhone 7, being well compatible with the contactless IC chip readers that are available in the country provide a lucrative sales ground. Despite this, the companies in Japan that make components for the Phones and also its contemporaries in Asia are going to face a crunch with the falling demand for the phone.

Amazon Flying Warehouse Equipped with Drones for Home Delivery

Dec 29, 2016 By

How about you get your packages delivered by unmanned drone via air? Sounds cool, isn’t it? This April, online giant Amazon had filed the patent for a flying warehouse carrying drones that will help it deliver goods across the country. The brand new Amazon flying warehouse ‘airborne fulfilment centre’ was registered at the U.S. patent and trademark office.

Amazon Flying Warehouse will deliver packages in just 30 minutes.
Amazon Flying Warehouse will deliver packages in just 30 minutes.

Why was Amazon Flying Warehouse Introduced?

Amazon believes that this interesting combination of drones and flying warehouse will help deliver goods ten times faster than ground based warehouses. With this project, Amazon intends to roll out international deliveries all over the world within 30 minutes of ordering.

Where can We find Them?

The patent covers specially designed vehicles that will hover about 45,000 feet or 14,000 m in the air. This portable warehouse would be carried by airships. They’ll be sent to places where Amazon products are in high demand. Besides these, Amazon airships act as minor shuttles taking drones to festivals, local sporting events and famous places.

Did Amazon Test this Service?

Amazon kicked off their first ‘Prime Air’ delivery via drones earlier this month. They dropped off a package at the customer’s place within 13 minutes of its placement. The pilot testing experiment was successfully completed in the United Kingdom. Now, this multi-millionaire investment awaits approval from the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) to start Amazon air delivery in the Unites States.

What can We Expect in Future?

Other than the Amazon flying warehouse, we can expect new Amazon grocery stores without checkout lines in the United States. This project is in the testing phase in Seattle. If you want to purchase something from Amazon stores, you just need to tap your smartphones and login to your Amazon account as you enter inside.

Amazon will automatically add items to your cart. Once you’re done with shopping and you walk out, the app will charge your Amazon account for the supplies.

Amazing isn’t it? Now you don’t have to stand in long queues to wait for your turn.

Best Food Finding Apps On Android and iOS That Are Trending Now:

Dec 18, 2016 By

The smartphone can now be used even to satisfy the sudden pangs of hunger, simply by installing best Food finding apps on your device. Normally, these applications are quite legit and require little effort to find and install, as they are available easily on the app stores. But there could be hundreds of choices to pick from and a wrong pick could leave you waiting for your food to be delivered till kingdom come. We have picked out some of the best food finding apps for you and no matter which part of the globe you are, these will help out strongly.

Swiggy is one of the many Food Finding apps in the world that takes care of food lovers eating urges, choices and dilemmas!!

Let’s start with the first one, Yelp. Yelp is basically a food search engine, supported by the inputs of the users of the app. It is through their shared experiences, that the app is able to give you the best suggestions. You normally need to key in the stuff you want to eat and it will return the best results to you based on relevance, proximity to your location and of course, user reviews. Available both on iOS and Android.

The second one is Zomato, which is another version of Yelp, but has more functions. Zomato allows you to look for restaurants, gives you reviews, allows users to post pictures from their visits to these restaurants and also gives you access to their full menu along with prices. This allows you to plan your budget before you visit. The best part of it is that it gives you a home delivery service. However, the home delivery is restricted to certain restaurants in select areas only. Available for Android and iOS.

The third one is Open Table. This application is basically used to book tables in restaurants. In course of booking, one is given an insight into different offers run by different restaurants, so not only can you book the tables, you can also save a few bucks by taking their offer. Leaves little to choose from if you are restricted to the offer menu only, but having a table booked well in advance during rush hours is a big relief.

On the fourth position, we can consider TripAdvisor. Although this is not strictly speaking just a food finding app, it is of great help to people who are visiting a place for the first time. Just like yelp, users’ reviews help people to decide which place is the best for them.

Where Chefs Eat is a paid application available categorically in the iOS. It is priced at $13 US and can be judged as one of the best apps in the category, as it seeks opinion from the chefs itself. Undoubtedly, being trained cooks, they also know which placed have the best tasting food, thus making this an absolutely trust worthy app.

Urbanspoon is another informative app that talks about the quality of food at different restaurants. It has recently struck up a deal with Zomato, which happens to be extremely good in terms of giving a fair idea of which restaurant is really good. With Urban Spoon you can find restaurants across the world, but only for cities which UrbanSpoon supports. The app is currently active in US, Canada, UK, Ireland and a few other places.

Lastly, we have Swiggy, which happens to be one of the best food finding apps in India. Foxconn May Be Backed By SoftBank In Making Major US Investments And Generating 50,000 Jobs:

Dec 7, 2016 By

Foxconn, the top assembler for Apple’s products is slowly making its way into the US market, with the help of SoftBank, the Japanese investment giant. SoftBank CEO Masayoshi Son recently met with Trump in the US after he was elected president to discuss plans for US investment. Although very few sources have been able to gather information correctly about this confidential meeting, a couple of things have been discussed for sure.

In their meeting, Son and Trump discussed about Foxconn’s intentions of making investment in the US. This points at high chances for the fact that 50,000 US jobs can be created in the US.  Trump can use this as a slingshot to launch himself in the good books of non- supporters. Just like he had committed an investment value of $10 billion in India, it has decided to invest almost $50 billion in US alone. Such kind of money can be generated by SofBank only through its technology fund, which can currently has more than 100 billion US dollars in it. Out of this, 7 billion may be  the amount reserved by the firm for its investment into  Foxconn.

According to Foxconn, it is working to understand for sure how much of profit will be available to both parties so this can be worked upon. Asides, they refused to discuss any more details about the meeting with trump, stating that they could not disclose much about their confidential meeting with a ‘relevant US official. All pieces of the puzzle seem to fall back in place with this deal, as earlier Trump had already coaxed Apple to bring its production completely into US. At that point, everyone was busy forming views and voicing opinions about how expensive the iPhone 8 was going to be. Little did we know that with foreign money pouring into the country, Apple would not really face extreme losses here, as it had been projected.

GoDaddy Inc Aims At Buying Host Europe Group To Expand Customer Base In Europe:

Dec 7, 2016 By

American website domain provider GoDaddy Inc. now aims to create a strong foothold in Europe. In what appears to be a rather beneficial decision, the company has decided to approach the peer Host Europe Group, also referred to as HEG for an acquisition offer. Although the deal has not been sealed yet, the absorption is deemed to take place at the rate of 1.69 billion euros.

The GoDaddy and HEG deal will no doubt produce the most desired results. With the American web requirements  for small brands being catered to, GoDaddy feels that it is time to cross the Atlantic and move into Europe, which is another very lucrative zone for the domain provider. GoDaddy Chief Executive Blake Irving correctly puts this move as a ‘five year jump in Europe’.

Signs of progress have already started showing. The very mention of the deal in the news has caused the price of the shares of GoDaddy to go up by 2.2 per cent and it is evident that these shareholders will be quite benefited as the days go by. Discussions with HEG had started last month, but more discussions are to be done with European private equity firm Cinven Ltd, that happens to be the current owner of the company.  Cinven had taken over around the month of August in the year 2013. Since then, the company has been doing fairly good.

Previous plans to acquire the firm had been shelved, primarily because the two parties felt that there would be concerns over integration at that time.  Now, GoDaddy Inc is going to come up with a two sided approach, where apart from simply buying the HEG services, the American company will also use HEG PlusServer for managing its hosting business. This could be a major motive to enable a successful move.

The merger between GoDaddy Inc and Host Europe Group will no doubt help to boost profits for both parties and with the HEG  chief executive, Patrick Pulvermuller at the head of operations in this new company, the two will face no lack of expertise when it will come down to handling the European consumer base.
