In a breaking news update, we have received internal intelligence from within Microsoft that they are now planning to re-build the Hotmail brand.
Rumors indicate that the company is now bringing back the Hotmail brand name with the introduction of a brand new application for the Microsoft owned Windows Phone OS, where it will be introduced as ‘Hotmail’ application – an e-mail manager which will take care of all your e-mail uses.
The Hotmail application is introduced as an effort to refresh the memory of the audiences to bring back the brand name.
Microsoft has dropped the Hotmail brand name since quite a long time, and had then rebranded it with the Windows Live Mail.
The re-branding was done because it was an internal conflict that the then CEO of the company, Steve Ballmer had – and there is an internal rumour which indicates that the man was never fond of the ‘hotmail’ brand and thought it was harmful for the company’s future.
The latest news from the company indicates that they are re-building the brand back after Satya Nadella has become the head of Microsoft.
Hotmail has been a brand which was originally developed by an Indian, Sabir Bhatia, and Satya Nadella, being an Indian, has believed in bringing back the brand Hotmail.
The all new hotmail is being introduced in the windows phone OS with the help of an application. Eventually it is highly expected that this move will eventually make way for the Hotmail brand to return.
The new and improved hotmail will be featuring the Skype integration service. The hotmail application will also integrate the services of Skype in it.
The latest news also indicates that the company plans to bring back the chat features of the MSN messenger along with this new hotmail app.
This is in response to the hangouts application that google has with android, and the iMessages that Apple provides.
Microsoft are now doing an intense brand building activity and are pushing all their ‘in-house’ brands – the services that have been their primary offering for a very long time were affected by a slump they had experienced after the arrival of android.
The new application of Hotmail for Windows Phone will also bring Gmail and Facebook integration along with it, and the messages that users get in Facebook and e-mails that they get in Gmail will come to them in the Hotmail app inbox.
These features are very interesting and Microsoft aims at better participation by the users.
